What Am I Looking At?
This project was one we did in class so that we could learn about someones story who we knew. We made the project public so that people could hear those stories and learn from them and see whats happening to people around them in this world. For this project i decided to interview Steve a friend of mine.
Pre-Interview
Before we actually sat down and had the interview there was a few things we had to do. We watched a few videos in class that showed what both a bad and good interview looked like so we could learn from them. I thought it would be good to have some questions for the interview so along with the base two that we had i made a small list that branched of from those ideas. In class we also did some practice interviews so we could prepare for the actual thing.
The Interview
The actual interview itself was kinda hyped and wasn't as crazy as i thought it was going to be but was still pretty interesting. For the interview i had my interviewee sit down in a room where i thought the audio would be nice and where he would be comfortable. I made sure to ask him if it would be okay if i recorded him responding to a few questions for a class project and he said sure. Our conversation went on for about 24 minutes and was very informative. After the interview i wrote down some notes and was ready to create my golden paragraph.
Interview Outline |
The interview outline was a outline of what was said during the interview and when. The reason we made this was so we could turn the interview into a single piece that seemed more like a story than an interview. This piece would eventually turn into out golden paragraph.
Script Outline |
The script outline was another step in the process to the final part of the project. This part helped us create a bridge to the golden paragraph and final document. It has most of the script in it and is almost like a rough draft of the final piece.

Golden Paragraph
Back where I'm from my hometown it was mostly the automobile Industry and my stepfather at the time said it wasn't really the greatest job in the world. It paid the bills and everything like that but he said there really wasn't much of a future In it. My real father, before he passed away, was in the navy so it sounded like a good idea to join. I wasn't the greatest student In the world so all I had to do to join was sign a contract and finish highschool and then I had a job right when I got out of highschool

Reflection
I felt like this project helped me learn a lot about the people around me but overall i didn't really like it very much. I think that it didn't teach me much besides how to do an interview and so far in life i haven't had to do that much. I do think that it helped me go deeper when thinking about things though. I didn't like the fact that we had to turn it into something that wasn't interview like because i think that that took away from the project and didn't make it an interview piece.
